Hey All,

I am giving SCJP this month end. My friend, who is an SCJP, compiled this doc, which'll give an idea about the mock exams. I am not sure how useful this might be, but i wanted to share this with you all. (Since there is no option to upload an attachment, am pasting the contents of the doc here)

<doc contents>

Kathy Sierra and Bert Bates.

One and a half months.

Finish off the certification book in 7 to 10 days. Daily 1 to 1.5 hours allocation will be more than enough to complete the entire book in 10days.

Do not take the self test that will be given at the end of the chapters as the Master Exam that comes along with this book has questions taken from these self tests.

The two minute drill will help you to brush through the important concepts before examination day.

Now, you will be ready to take up the mock exams.

1. VOODOO Exam Simulator: (Downloadable)

This has a nice set of mock exams to begin with. All the questions in this covers the exam objectives and gives you the initial feeling of the examination questions. Do review the questions that went wrong. This will really help in the next mock exam.

There will be around 5 to 6 small length exams in this simulator. There will be no full length exam in this simulator.

2. JIRIS Mock exams: (Needs a login)

This website contains a comprehensive set of 3 mock exams that can be taken after registering in that site. These mock exams are for SCJP1.2.So, there will be questions that will not be related to the SCJP1.4 objectives. Make use of these 3 mock exams and treat it as a learning from mistakes kind of an experience. Do not worry about the percentage that you get in these exams, because you will take it again at the end.

The above 2 mock exams provide a wide range of questions that will help you in understanding the fundamental concepts of JAVA programming.

3. JAVA Ranch Rules Round Up Game: (Login not required)

This is not like the flash games you play.It is more than thatThe questions that are present will test your understanding of basic concepts in JAVA. There will be a total of 144 questions distributed into 12 rounds.

4. JAVA Certificate: (Needs a Login) (SCJP 1.4)

This is a very good site that has a single comprehensive mock exam with questions equivalent exam difficulty level. The score that you get in this mock exam will be somewhat closer to the final exam result.

So,take this mock exam when you feel that you are done with all the preparation.

5. Marcus Green Mock Exams: (Login not required) (SCJP 1.4) (SCJP 1.2) (SCJP 1.2)

These links contain the most famous set of mock exams that is trusted and that still continues to be the best of all. This is also full length exam which can be taken two and a half weeks before the examination date.

6. JQplus: (Downloadable) (SCJP 1.4)

This is also a full length exam that has to be taken 2 weeks before the examination date.

7. WBrogden Mock Exam: (Login not required)

This site contains a set of 40 questions that can be taken soon after you finish going through the certification book. Really a good one to take.

9. (Login not required)

Again a mock exam to take. Can be taken at any time of your preparation.

10. ( Login Required)

A good web site that has a good set of questions. This does not contain a full length mock exam

11. (Login not required)

Has two full length mock exams.

12. (Downloadable)

Has a mock exam that needs to be downloaded.

can anyone tell me what are the additional topics in scjp 5 when compared to scjp 1.4. I heard that scjp 5 is tougher than scjp 1.4 .i am planning to take scjp 1.4 because all the new topics of 5 are not availabe under one roof. Can anyone tell me where to get them at one place?

thank you
