Does this mean we have to start preparing for SCJP 1.6

I also stayed in doubt when I heared about Java 6 (Mustang). I also asked myself : "Should I wait for SCJP 6 ?"
About one thing I am sure : Once there are many programmers still trying to get the programmer certification for Java 1.4 and a few others looking for SCJP 5 and considering that it is still hard to find good study guides about Java 5 and that Java 6 has not released the oven to the World yet, I think that the best choice is get prepared for Java 1.4 or 5 exams.
I think we still have to wait for a few months till new Java 6 becomes a stable, full tested and trustable version.
I also think that market, I mean Factories, also will take a few months, maybe one year or more to absorve this new technology.
At this point there is no reason to assume there will be a new version of the cert. JDK 5 had so many new core language features that a new cert was warranted; I doubt this will true of 6, and maybe not even 7, or 8. JDK 5 took a long time to be released, but subsequent releases are supposed to be smaller and more frequent. Probably not worth creating a whole new test for, in my opinion.
