This week's book giveaways are in the Refactoring and Agile forums. We're giving away four copies each of Re-engineering Legacy Software and Docker in Action and have the authors on-line! See this thread and this one for details.
I have an applet that shows a picture in the center with two vertical icon button columns to direct the rolling over of the pictures shown at the center. Also a function button for FileDialog has been added for picture download. If I handle FileDialog prompt correctly -- click "save" or "cancel", no problem; If I use mouse to click any part of my applet screen, or even the browser part, the dialog becomes black (actually goes behind my browser screen), and my applet screen is dead. My FileDialog is called withing the event handling block when the button is clicked. How to block my applet from its action until file dialog prompt is correctly answered? Please help me out! Thank you so much!!!

Here is the reply to my posted question: I used a dummy frame for file dialog. I should get the frame from my applet by using getParent(). See the discussion at the address below: http://www.jguru.com/faq/view.jsp?EID=27423 Thanks!
