Hi Meena!
I'm at the end of SCJP5 preparation, after 4 months of work. This week, probably I'll go for the exam (I bought the voucher from Sun few days ago and I'm waiting for the voucher e-mail).
I haven't any programming experience in Java. I was a C (and a little of C++..) programmer for about 2 years, and now I'm a Cobol programmer (extremely different from Java....).
I've studied on various books: "Java, How to program" by Deitel & Deitel, "Thinking in Java 3ed" (some "critical" topics like threads, but no 1.5 topics), "J2SE Complete Reference" by H.Schildt and I did a lot of programming exercises.
Finally I bought and studied K&B5 book (completed in 10 days of intensive study). I think this is the best book for the exam preparation (I read "Two minutes drill" chapters every day )
Now I'm doing a lot of mocks, like Marcus Green mock exams, K&B5 Master Exams and other free mocks.
My results, for now, are:
- Marcus Green mocks: about 80%
- K&B Master Exams: 64% and 75%
I hope to pass this exam!

Good luck!

Cheers,
Barry.
