Hi I want to know that the book "Sun Certified Programmer & Developer for Java 2 Study Guide " by Kathy Sierra is for scjp or scjd or both. I want a book for scjp 5.0 .

It's for both.
The latest edition covers SDK 5.0.
Understandably though, the SCJD stuff is mainly about guidelines and best practices on the various components of the project.

Hi,
The book is really intended to focus on the SCJP exam. The SCJD material (which was in the 1.4 book, but got moved to the CD for 1.5) is NOT intended to be a complete guide to the SCJD! We consider it to be good bonus material to go along with a primary SCJD guide, and I think that if you go to the SCJD forum you'll find a couple good recommendations there, like the book by Andrew Monkhouse or the book by Max Habibi, both of which we recommend.
