This week's book giveaways are in the Refactoring and Agile forums. We're giving away four copies each of Re-engineering Legacy Software and Docker in Action and have the authors on-line! See this thread and this one for details.
I am using jdbc to connect database in an applet(on the same machine, ip is 126.96.36.199): method1 works: sqlConn=java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:mysql://localhost:3306/resource?user=caven;password='winner'"); method2 goes wrong: sqlConn=java.sql.DriverManager.getConnection ("jdbc:mysql://188.8.131.52:3306//resource?user=caven&password='winner'");
