i'm designing a software using java applet,
the first page should be the authentication one: username and password, if type wrong, then keep this page, if right , this page disappear and another page display, the 2nd page is the main one consists many things.
How to avoid the 2nd page being displayed directly by entering the url in the IE?
if can keep both of them in one applet,
what to put in init()?
if must keep as 2 individual applets,
how to avoid the problem as above?
many many thanks.

How about the following method:
void showDocument(URL url, String target)
It is part of the AppletContext class, this might be what you are looking for.
