Painting using Microsoft VM

I have an applet that has a number of frames with extensive GUI component usage. Some of them use double buffered panels, custom painting etc.
The applet is run in IE under Microsoft VM.
The problem occures unpredictably (sometime it does, sometimes it doesn't) in the form of the following exception:
at com/ms/awt/ZLabelPeer.update
at com/ms/awt/WComponentPeer.doUpdate
at com/ms/awt/WComponentPeer.paintNode
at com/ms/ui/windowmanager/PaintRequest.run
at com/ms/ui/windowmanager/RunnableMessage.run
at com/ms/awt/WSystemQueue.getMessage
at com/ms/awt/WEventQueue.getNextEvent
at java/awt/EventDispatchThread.run
After this, one of the components quits repainting properly.
Can somebody help solve this issue?
Thank you.
