Hi Everybody,
I developed a applet which talks to MySql database.
I start the database server and call this applet with the help of a browser, it runs fine and i am able to retreive and access data and also insert data
into to the Database server from this applet on my local machine.
But the same applet when i call with the help of a browser from a different machine, it loads just the Graphical User Interface , but when i wish to retreive or insert data into the MySql database through this applet, it doesnt allow me to do so.
I would be glad for your help and suggestion on this as to how to go about achieving this task.
1. I am loading the driver in my java code as:
private StringdriverClassLocation = "";
private StringdataSourceName = "jdbc:mysql:///test";
2. I am testing on Netscape 7.02 and Internet Explorer5.5+ browsers
Both are working fine when accessing locally but not when i am on remote machine.
Is ther any special settings to be done as regard browsers?
Is the policy file need to be changed?
Is the database driver to be loaded with IP address?
any help in this regard will be a great help for me.

hi deepak
along w/ the applet jar files u have to make sure that it would find the jdbc driver as the client machine needs to have the driver loaded in the browser JRE.
but apart from that please read
thread to see views about using database via an applet...
