Hi folks,

Please I'd like to hear your thoughts about the two terms below existing in SCJP Logo License Contract.

I think I'm misleading such terms that's why I'm really interested about your opinions.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
(10) The Term of this Contract shall be two (2) years from the date of your Certification, either as it appears on the Certificate you received from Sun, or as Sun may otherwise notify you. This Contract is not renewable.

(11) This Contract will terminate immediately should Sun revoke your certification status. In Sun's sole discretion and at any time, Sun may terminate this Contract and any permission granted by it to use the Logo. Within thirty (30) days (or such longer period as Sun may authorize) following electronic or written notice from Sun of termination, you will stop using the Logo on your personal and business cards, resume and/or stationery.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

As per previous contract's term #10, I'm allowed to use the SCJP logo for at most two years once the contract is not renewable.

According to contract's term #11, what does it mean ?

This Contract will terminate immediately should Sun revoke your certification status ?

Does it mean I will lose my certification status ?

Maybe these are dumb questions but I would really like to hear your opinions.

Thanks a lot.

It just means that Sun reserves the right to revoke certification status. And if they do so, then you would no longer be allowed to use the logos.

The 2-year limit seems like a remnant of when certification "expired" after 2 years. (I think they should update that.)

Not since August 1, 2003. See Sun's Certification FAQs...
As of August 1, 2003, all Sun certifications are now based on versions. There is no expiration date to your certification title.
