hi friends,

my doubt is not a technical one...but I wanted to know how SCJP test can help in my career growth...

I mean is it just an added advantage on my resume or will any mnc or big company only find me for a suitable job...becoz right now i am working on java n jsp in a small company... And also i am confident that i will clear SCJP with a good percentile...

so before investing 7-8k on the certification i wanted to know how can it help me in my future.

so plz friends tell me...u might be experienced in this...how much percentage should be scored for a better career.......

thanks regards,
santosh

Well, you could search in here and see what's been said previously about certification and how it affects the job search.

Insofar as when I'm doing hiring at our company - I find that certification is something that helps distinguish between candidates for an open position, but that it doesn't really outweigh any practical experience. I wouldn't hire someone with just a certification necessarily over someone who has some work experience, but I wouldn't overlook it either - it's just one more item that you can use to demonstrate your knowledge with the technology.

Do I think the SCJP is worth it? Certainly. But I wouldn't expect miracles from it.

It's also more impressive if you do not write in "textspeak". Please use proper words in forums such as this.
