I have created an applet and now I want to sign the applet. Therefore I need a "code signing digital id" from a CA. The digital id's from Thawte and Verisign are very expensive ($199 and $399). Does someone know a CA that issue cheaper "code signing digital id's"?

You can self-sign a certificate, as described in the Signed Applet Tutorial. It's free, but your end user will receive a warning that there is no authority behind the cert.

Thanks! But I don't want to self sign the applet because of the warning. I'm thinking about selling the applet and a self signed applet is therefore not an option.
