The answer given is C. But I think the answer should be B. So there is a BIG problem!! (either for me or for all K & B book users)

The "root" directory is in this case xcom. So to compile the classes the current dir need the his parent, in this case test. Then the classpath is . to search in this dir and the children all src and dependencies.

You can try it yourself!

can somebody provide a short explanation on why all other options are incorrect?
i am not getting it
