arithmetic operations using applets

hello
can anyone help me out with this problem?
" write an applet that asks the user to enter two floating-point numbers, obtains the two numbers from the user and drws the sum, product, diffrence and quotient of the two numbers".

i actually cannot execute the program even if it is simple :-(, donno why

if anyone can helpi i would be more than glad

Well, which part is the problem? The creation of the GUI, the handling of events, the drawing of text strings, or the part about it being an applet? Let us know where you are stuck specifically, and we'll help you get going again.
(This seems to be an assignment of some sort, which you should be doing to learn Java, so we're not going to just do it for you - you wouldn't learn much from that.)

actually, the problem is about the part of being it an applet, and how and how i can make it run,

i have another request, i'm working with th version j2sdk1.4.1_03
but it's not working actually, which makes thigs worst :'( what should i do?
(i'm actually working on my own because the java course instructor's methodology in teaching is not that appropriate for biginners) :-(

"it's not working actually" does not tell us anything that might aid in helping you. What exactly is the problem? TellTheDetails.

The same goes for your question about the applet - what have you done, what does or does not work as you would expect it to, are there any error messages?
