This week's book giveaway is in the Mac OS forum. We're giving away four copies of a choice of "Take Control of Upgrading to Yosemite" or "Take Control of Automating Your Mac" and have Joe Kissell on-line! See this thread for details.
I am planning to write SCJP and have some work experiance java 1.4 .Some experts said it is better to take 1.4 because of having some experiance , but 5 is the new one.Which certification should i select 1.4 or 5? What is the difference in difficulty level? I will be grateful if you give me an answer.
Most of the people would probably advice to study for the new one, but if you are more confident with Java 1.4 don't skip that option too soon.
If your goal is get a certification and your are really working with 1.4 only at the moment, I would go for the old and safe route... you may even find some second hand books around that are much cheaper than the brand new Java 5 ones :-)
Otherwise, if you feel that you have anyway to study mainly from scratch (take a look at the two different lists of topics on the Java web site), well go for the route...
