Is the applet signed, or the local security policy altered to allow this to happen?

Oracle's instructions describe how to connect via an applet.

If your database is on the same server as the webserver that served the applet,
and you use that same servername/ip address in the connect string, signing the applet is not strictly required.
In other cases, it is.

If you follow the instructions in the document, it works.

Additional info:

On the Oracle TechNet site, in the jdbc driver download section, you can find a download called demo.zip. It contains a complete applet / thin driver example.

We have a special forum for applet related questions. I'll move this there for you.

Hi, Mintu.

We pointed you to Oracle's instructions, and to the example applet they provide on Technet (see above).
Did you try it?
Did it work?
If it didn't work, where did it fail?

Regards, Jan
