I have a functionality in my web page where i need to drag and drop an image from my file system on to an

and my web page should receive the file path of the dropped image.

Welcome to JavaRanch.
The Swing toolkit includes
drag-n-drop
, which can do that. The applet will need to be signed for this to work.

The
