Applet - LiveConnect

I have a requirement where i should communicate some data from inside the Applet's stop method (i.e. when the applet is closed) to a JavaScript function. I am using LiveConnect to communicate from Applet to JavaScript.

For some reason the LiveConnect call that i make inside the Applet's stop method to communicate the data to the appropriate JavaScript function is not completed. From my observation what i could guess is, the Applet is destroyed before the LiveConnect call is completed, hence the JavaScript method is not invoked.

Can anyone throw some light on this issue?

This sounds odd. I wouldn't think that the call to JavaScript is asynchronous (meaning it returns before it has been fully executed). Does the call if it is done from some method in the applet (in other words, while the applet is NOT being shut down)?

The call to javascript is not asynchoronous. And yes the javascript call works fine when invoked from some other method in the applet.
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
