I recently took and passed the SCJP exam, and I have a free retake. The rules/regulations do not state that it's not transferable, so I assume I can give it away? Is this true?

Um... I understand that Sun will only send you a retake voucher if their records show that you have failed at first attempt. You have two vouchers?

Retake comes into picture, only when you fail for the first time. Since you cleared, its not applicable to you.

I actually recieved my retake voucher number via email. And I have my SCJP certificate too. So, they sent me one for some reason.

I recieved the following email: Dear J Brewer, SUN has notified us that you have qualified for a free retake voucher, as a result of the 310-055 exam that you have taken. Your retake voucher number is: XXXXXXXXXXX This voucher is valid for exam 310-055, and expires 1 year from today. Should you have any questions about the retake promotion, please reply to <who2contact@central.sun.com>. Sincerely, SunCert@thomson.com

I agree...very strange. Their terms and conditions doesn't mention that the retake is non-transferrable, so I think I could give it to someone. However, I have to assume that there's been some kind of communication snafu because I recieved my retake voucher number around 2 weeks after I bought the exam, but before I even took it, so I'll probably just discard it. Just seems like a waste to people who could use it...
