Hi Ranchers,

This is my requirement, My application should be able to search files and folders in clients local machines against a given word, what should be the approach I should take?

Could a signed applet have permissions to get contents of the files and folders? Please explain help me to know the restrictions on this.

Thanks in Advance.

Yes, a signed applet can do that. The applet FAQ page points to a page that explains all about signing applets.
