Could anyone please tell me what's the percentage of theoritical questions asked in SCJP exam. I have studied Head First Java before, so I am not new to java. I have recently started studying K&B study guide, and after studying first chaper I realized its more of memorizing stuff other than coding. Am I right?

I do not believe your characterisation of the exam is correct. This exam is highly theoretical, you have to understand the language's runtime behaviour quite well.

I have taken many cert exams and this is the least rote memorisation one there is and the most theoretical.

MCPD (Enterprise Application Developer, Windows Developer, Web Developer - .NET 2.0), MCTS (Windows Apps, Web Apps and Disbributed Applications - .NET 2.0), MCITP (Database Developer & Business Intelligence Developer - SQL Server 2005), MCAD,, SCJP 5, SCWCD 1.4, SCBCD, SCMAD, SCDJWS, SCJA

You are too early into the book to come to that conclusion. You might encounter 5 theory questions in the exam.
