I guess it would be redundant if I said these methods aren't on the exam

Thanks for the reply Bert.
I love the book by the way. The section explaining the Calendar class is worth the price by itself. I have 2 other Java books that are highly reviewed, but they blew it when it comes to understanding the Factory Pattern that is being used by the Calendar class. (Or Abstract Factory, whatever... )
They both suggest instantiating GregorianCalendar directly. They left me totally confused and now I don't trust much of what those other books have to say about Java.
I also appreciate the sense of humor you and Kathy display in the book. I really did want to quit after the first chapter. It was only the joking about "What was I thinking?" at the end of this chapter that kept me going.
Anyway, back to the topic. I hope our friends at Whizlab read this forum. They have a good product. The explanations are excellent. They have some very nice features to enhance the learning experience. It's just that once in a while they throw in some questions that are slightly beyond the scope of the exam. Since I am new to Java, having been a C/C++ programmer for the past 10 years, I am just about at my limit right now with the amount of new material that I have to learn for the SCJP exam.
I can tell you that after working with C/C++ for 10 years that learning Java is very refreshing!
