This is not really an errata item so much as a comment on the K&B book. K&B is a GREAT learning book. I also think it's a VERY GOOD reference book. One thing that would make it more useful as a reference is to beef up the index. Come on, who are we kidding the index is kind of wimpy.
It could use some beefing up. I suppose after 800 pages the authors didn't want to tack on another considerable number of pages for the index, but it could easily be doubled from its current size. The current index is really not very useful. I rarely find the items I'm looking for. (Did I mention it's a GREAT book.)
We're happy that you're enjoying the book. I think of all our books the SCJP book has the best index, so if you ever get a Head First book - be forewarned - those have REALLY wimpy indexes. Actually, this is the first time I can remember anyone complaining about the K&B index. If you can take the time to give us a couple of examples it would help.
Spot false dilemmas now, ask me how!

OK. I'll come up with a few examples and add them to this topic.
I have a friend that judges technical books by the size of their index. He tends to by the one with the largest index. I guess he wouldn't like the Head First series.
I'm actually looking forward to reading the Head First Patterns book after I pass the SCJP.
Bert and Kathy, you rock!
I’ve looked at a lot of different solutions, and in my humble opinion Aspose is the way to go. Here’s the link: http://aspose.com
