As John mentioned, the SCJP forum's Frequently Asked Questions List is a good place to start. In that list there is a link to Sun's FAQ.
It would be easier for us to tell you where to start when we know how much java programming knowledge you have, and which version of SCJP you wish to take (1.4 or 5.0).
