This week's book giveaway is in the OCAJP 8 forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide and have Edward Finegan & Robert Liguori on-line! See this thread for details.
Presently I am working in a software company in Bangalore. Now I am preparing for SCJP which I think is very much necessary for a Java programmer. But due to strict work schedules I am not able to give ample amount of time for the preparation and like this I am struggling for the last 6 months. I think many in my position have passed SCJP. I wanted to have their valuable suggestions and guidelines in this regard.
I told you many times this to you ....whenever you get the time in office, you can make utilize of this.....every one is busy with their work....even though they have achieved marvellous things in their life...dont worry about time..as and when you get the time you go through some mock exams chapterwise (strictly adhere to chapter wise test it will help you lot.....)in office only as there are many sites which have many mock exams try to solve it.....if you want furhter help dont hesitate to contact me...I think you know my mail id.
Omkar, getting a certification while under a strict schedule can be challenging, but certanly not impossible. One of the tricks is to continuosly dedicate some time to it: by studying just 1 hour every day, I think you can achieve the certification in 3 to 5 months without much problems (it depends a lot on your previous Java experience). The hint here is to do a little bit every day and if you happen to have some free day (like hollidays or week ends) then you can advance a little bit more. However, getting certificated shouldn't be stressfull, go at your own speed and try to enjoy it (and learn!).
Oh, and get a *truly* good book, like SCJP 5 by Katty Sierra & Bert Bates
