Hi Chandra,

I have gone thru assertion test. But I need some clarification and corrections::
Q 1) a,b should be static to use in static methods evaluateFirst(),evaluateSecond()
Q 7) how answer is C also?
Q 9) answer A,C are confusing. A says assert has been used inappropriately at Line 1 and C says assert has been used legally??
Q 10)answer A,D are confusing again. A says it's inappropriate use of assert in doStuff() and C says legal use of assert in doStuff()??

Hi Sable,

Corrections and clarifications:
Q 1) a,b should be static to use in static methods evaluateFirst(),evaluateSecond()
Q 7) how answer is C also?
Q 9) answer A,C are confusing. A says assert has been used inappropriately at Line 1 and C says assert has been used legally??
Q 10)answer A,D are confusing again. A says it's inappropriate use of assert in doStuff() and C says legal use of assert in doStuff()??

Q 1)
It was a typo, correct it with
static private int a;
static private int b;

Q 2) Try to understand the difference between something appropriate and not-appropriate
and legal and illegal

1- illegal refers to compilation fails that is beyond rules of syntax
2- inappropriate refers, some this that may be be correct as per the syntax rules are concerned
but not proper way to do that. For more detail refer to K&B using assertion do and dont.

Q 9) && Q10)
If you understand the meaning of "legal and illegal", "appropriate and inappropriate".
I think you can resolve the answers of both.

Happy assertion

Hi Narendra,

Oh! yeah, it is typo, the original text file version is not having any syntax error. It arose due to html conversion. You may avoid them. I will fix them soon.

I will add the explanation. Thanks for marking errors.

With Thanks & Regards,
cmbhatt
