I am thinking of purchasing the CDJ-275A self-paced training CD-ROM. Before I plunk down (actually, I plan to ask my company to do the plunking)the $450, I was hoping to read some reviews. Please give me your honest opinions about this training method. Preferably, I would like to hear from those who have actually used the media, but I am open to listen to opinions from people who just have thoughts on such a training method in general. Also, if you have links to previously published reviews of this material, that would be helpful, too. Although, I had trouble finding any, thus this post.
Hi, I purchased 4 of these cd for our group of Java developers. For the beginner Java programmers, this CD gets you going with a good foundation of how Java (5) works. What nice, is that since it's from Sun, you can count on it being correct and accurate information. It's self paced with pre/post tests, nice examples and easy to follow graphics. It took, on average, 2-3 weeks for our beginner folks to complete. Even our intermediate Java programmers found the CD a useful skills refresher. Recommended, especially if you are interested in the Java Programmer certification.
We also purchased the next CD for Java Developers. Also well done. Hope this helped.
