Dear All ,

I want to take up scjp1.4 in 1 month time .
By now , I have started reading " Head First Java " by k&B for learning basics .
Please help , how to proceed with my preparation further .........
like all the ref books and other things which are must required before I take up my exam , ie after one month .

Please guide me .

Thanks and Regards,

Hello Prathibha,

Welcome to JavaRanch! Have a look at the SCJP Frequently Asked Questions, there is some useful information there about preparing for SCJP.

Good luck!

Hello Prathibha,

Just concentrate only on basics of Java and OO Fundamentals in HFJ and quickly start off with SCJP, as the SCJP book by K & B covers enough fundamentals of each and every aspect before they actually proceed.

Good luck

Hi Pratibha

A lot depends on your current Java experience and knowledge.
1 month is sufficient if you have few years of experience behind you.

Please also see related threads where people have asked the same question.

hi pratibha !!
why aren't you going for SCJP5?? give yourself more time for the preperations...and you might end up wanting to give SCJP5 and not SCJP1.4 !!!
