HI,
I also passed my SCJP yesterday.
Friends ,untill yesterday I was very happy, but today after seeing this forum , I am really confused and come down to earth.
Any way. Could some body help me... What type of job we should see? a programer or a developer.....
What should be the minimum salery one should expect in US?
I have only one year exp. in java ? I have been developing small small programs for my company for engg. use.
Please if some body can also give me really good job hunting sites....
Thanks

Amit

A year of experience and your SCJP is very good! You shouldn't feel discouraged. It sounds like you're overseas right now, and I don't know much of what it takes to get the appropriate visas or whatever you need, but I'm sure someone else can help you on that. There are many regulars here who have moved to the U.S. from foreign countries.

It's hard to give a quick answer on salary for a Java Developer. In many areas you can probably look for $50,000/yr. or so...
Read this thread: http://www.javaranch.com/ubb/Forum37/HTML/000142.html

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
