Hello friends, I have MCA(Master Of Computer Apps) degree from University campus.I have 2 years and 4 months of real time experience in java and related technologies. I have 6 months project trainee experience. Further i am scjp with 96%. currently doing scjd also. Previous i completed 4 projects using diff java technologies like jsp, servlets, java beans etc..etc and one site using asp. Currently i am doing one project using jndi, ldap, nds, xml etc..etc. This is my profile. whats my problem is leaving all these technologes my recruiter telling put some c++ exp in your profile so that we market you easily otherwise its very hard for us coz with the profile lot of people are there. I have good knowledge in c++ (in university) on sco unix but i haven't done any real time projects in c++. Is it necessary to put c++ stuff to find job easily? or leave my profile as it is. I am in total confusion. I am expecting your suggestions. So please respond as quickly as possible coz i have to give my resume soon. Waiting for your opinions Thanks in advance Pradeep Varma
I am working as a consultant and I list supporting existing C++ applications, but in interviews I am always very clear about the fact that I haven't done any new development in C++. I haven't had any problems getting work so far...
Pradeep - when I'm looking for Java Developers for server-side applications, I hope to see C++ on the resume because it increases the chance that s/he has OO skills. If you feel comfortable including C++ on your resume it might be a good idea, assuming you're looking for back-end programming. Nick's approach sounds very reasonable; just be clear about what you do and don't know early in the interview process.
