Hi all, I am planning to take SCJP certification exam and right now I am following a certification book by Kathy Sierra,Bert Bates. Its not the latest though but covers almost all that's required for the exam. However, I am confused as to which exam should I be taking under this category. Specifically, I wanna know what's the difference between the following exams: 1. Java 2 Platform, SE 5.0 (CX-310-055) 2. Java 2 Platform 1.4 (CX-310-035) 3. Java 2 Platform 1.2 (CX-310-025) How do I decide upon which one to take? and why? Glad to take your suggestions. Happy Java! Regards, Jayashree

Those are all SCJP exams, for different versions of Java. Forget about CX-310-025, SCJP for Java 1.2 - this is an ancient version of Java, and this exam is not available anymore. So the choice is between the SCJP for Java 1.4 or for Java 5.0. My opinion is: If you don't have a specific reason to take SCJP for Java 1.4, go for SCJP for Java 5.0 (CX-310-055), because that is the most current version.
