To me, what this day this year means is that exactly one year ago (Feb. 14 2000) I took the Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform exam for the first and only time and got 98% score. Then a couple of weeks later when I posted my resume, without any professional experience in Java, I got a great job as a Java developer. (Actually, I got two offers, not one! ).
At the time I was one of the two moderators of the <CODE>Programmer Certification Study</CODE> forum at JavaRanch (the other one was Jim).
Of course I posted about it in JavaRanch the same day. Also at Marcus' site. You can read about it (even now!)   It's the first link in here.
I Hope my stories serve as encouragement to others.

Tony, it means that Java, the language, is your loved one?

Oh Tony !

U know what? When I was preparing for SCJP2, I used to clear most of my doubts from your postings in javacert !! And what makes me feel ashamed is, I cleared SCJP2 in Jan 12, 2000 itself - yes got a job also based on that !
But, you went after me only? Oh...no...

Any way, a big thanx for helping me and others out here..

Thanks J and others!
I took longer than absolutely necessary to study for the SCPJ2 exam 'cause I wanted to get 100%
