Information needed

Hello Developers.
I have cleared SCJP 1.4 examination with 78% marks. Kindly tell me should i prepare for the SCJP 5.0 or SCJD examination for java platform.

Hi Anil,

First off, congratulations on clearing the SCJP 1.4! Since you have a newly-minted SCJP certification, it's probably a better idea to skip the SCJP 5 upgrade (at least for now), and instead move on to the next tier of certifications.

However, only you can ultimately decide which of the available certifications will be more valuable to you. Many factors play into this: your work domain, your desired career path, local market demand, etc. You may want to describe your background and current situation in some detail if you want to get good recommendations from people here.

Do note that the SCJD exam is significantly more involved than the SCJP due to its programming assignment. Because of this, it seems that most people tend to go first for the other exam-based certifications (SCWCD, SCBCD, etc) before tackling the SCJD (if they even do so at all).
