Dear friends,
In my project i am receiving user name and password from the user.I want to send the same to the database in encrypted form in order to maintain security.
I have downloaded JSSE from SUN.
Can anyone guide me how to proceed further??

try the JCE (java cryptography extension) or java security.
there you find Ciphers, Public/Private keys and so on.

Pick up the book Java Cryptography. It will explain everything you need.
