I gave my 310-055 today and flunked(58%) by a narrow margin

What i want to mention is that the testing time was 210min as opposed to the 175 as sun's site.can someone please tell me the reason,
is this an isolated incident or can we expect the same testing time always
please clarify as i plan to retake the test soon

Are you certain you took CX 310-055, and not CX 310-065? The latter is for Java 6 and allows 210 minutes. If this turns out to be the case, then it might also explain your score.

Wow, I hope they didn't switch the original poster from the 1.5 test to the 1.6 test...I'm supposed to take this in a week and that would be horrible. Please let us know!

This is also my situation (only a week left!) and I have double check the confirmation email... it says:

Exam Name: Sun Certified Programmer for the Java 2 Platform, SE 5.0
Appointment Duration: 03:15 [hh:mm]

I thought that the extra time was for registration and printing of the score, but now I'm a bit worried...

No mark,i am certain i took the 5.0 test.
As for my low score, many things led to it(There was a lot of noice and disturbance at the prometric center) but i did not complain as i did not want to sound like a sour loser.had i passed, i would certainly had brought up the issue.

i too the test and made certain that it was 310-055.i am also equally certain that i got 210 mins.

I spoke to my prometric testing center.they confirmed that i got more time but said that alloting time is not something they control. They said that the time i got was from prometric and sometimes these things do happen.
As a matter of fact she sounded very vague and did not give me clear picture.I guess,we should still prepare accorfing to 175mins but if during testing we get more time, well thats just good luck(we get more time to go through the paper once more).
