Hi all,
I have been looking for a job in LA for couple weeks. Since i am new to this area, no friends, no relation, my only way out so far is look at monster.com every other 10 minutes Monday thru Friday. I look at Sunday paper every week. Then i send resume, by fax or by email. The replies are scarce. I think i have enought experience to handle most of the posting. But every thing seems so slow. I just read about cold calling from the previous post. That might be another way out for me. Any company or institution that is worth trying? I am comfortable in most java technology. I am also have two years research experience in scientific/numerical algorithm developments using C. Just hope you can give me some hints on my job hunt. Thanks alot.

Do some cold calls and maybe attend some Java user group meetings. Personal networking works well...
