I saw some thread in which members were asking when to scracth off to see the code on the Sun Voucher. When I bought voucher in India from NIIT prometric, the code were not protected and no scracthing was needed. So, it looks like all the voucher may not need to be scratched(the code may be already displayed ) on the voucher.
I had another voucher from NIIT India from a different center, in which you have a silver color sticker on the top of the voucher which need to be "peeled off" rather than scratched. After keeping the voucher as it for months, I found difficulty in peeling off the sticker wihout damaging the code underneath and made few letters almost unreadable.
So, just wanted to let other fellow members that be careful if you have "peel off" rather than scratch. Probably it might be easier to peel off when the coupon is fresh rather than when you preserve it for a year.
Somebody asked when to scratch.. in examination or prior to that? If you have the voucher which has code protected, then you need to peel off/scratch it when you want to schedule the test as you need the code while you schedule.
Fortunately I never had to scratch or peel anything. I think it would be better to call a NIIT center and then have them schedule the exam. You only get a receipt from them and there is no scratching or peeling. That is how it used to be anyway. Has it changed ?
I was talking about some vouchers which was given by NIIT, bangalore India to its student at discounted rate if they do Java course with them. Those vouchers had NIIT sticker on them to keep the code safe and you can reveal them only when you peel it off.
Prior to this, when I bought the voucher for myself from another NIIT Bangalore Prometric center, the code was not protected.
So, I think NIIT , India gives both kind of vouchers.
