Please use the forum, not e-mail.

Tejas, I don't know what the content is of the material that you are offering, but I would like to remind you that the questions on the Sun SCJP exam are copyrighted, and publishing or distributing real questions from the exam without explicit approval from Sun is illegal.

Dear akhi tronics,

I am one of the moderators of the JavaRanch forums. Here on JavaRanch, we have a naming policy. We want the users of JavaRanch to use a real-sounding name as their display name.

Unfortunately, your name "akhi tronics" does not comply to the naming policy. Your display name should consist of a real-sounding first name, space, and a second name. Not only a first name, no obviously fake nickname, no initials only for the second name.

Please read the naming policy carefully and change your display name. You can change your name by editing your profile.

Please note that we are taking the naming policy seriously. If you do not change your display name, your account on JavaRanch might be locked.

Have fun on JavaRanch,

I have closed this topic, and removed all email addresses from the publicly viewable version.

As mentioned above, it would be far better if this material was available on the net. The big problems with the current situation:
  • It requires Tejas to come to this topic on a regular basis and trawl for new posts for email addresses for those who want the materials.

  • This is time consuming, error prone, and often results in the kind person who is doing the work getting annoyed and giving up.

  • Material that may be useful may eventually "disappear". Not deliberately, just this topic could drop off the list of displayed topics, and people could forget it exists.

  • Or, as mentioned above, Tejas could get annoyed / give up providing the data.

  • The number of requests for the materials can grow beyond reason. For an example, see this example where the "me too" requests reached 22 pages.

  • Posting your email addresses in a topic that can grow in this manner is asking for spam.

  • Consider how easy it would be for someone to write a parser to go through a 22 page topic where each post contains an email address. There is a lot of incentive to do this.

Tejas - assuming the materials are all legal, then
  • if you wish to put the materials somewhere on the net and provide a link, we can add the link to this topic and to the FAQ pages.
  • Similarly we should probably be able to host the materials for you if would prefer them to be hosted on JavaRanch.

  • For those who would like to contact Tejas directly, you can email him by clicking the icon next to his name. Or send him a private message by clicking the icon next to his name.

Tejas - you can contact me or another moderator if you would like to talk about how to get the legal materials available on the net.

    Regards, Andrew
