Actually i heared if from a friend of mine who wanted to clear SCJP and an institute had offered him that they will clear the test for him. They demanded 25,000 Rs... I dont know whether they could have done this or not it is not the question .. what i want is that each test center should follow such strict verification procedures that if these cases are happening, could not happen any more.... There's always going to be people who try to cheat in manners such as this. But what do you gain from it? If you're caught, you're banned for life from the certification program (at least by most vendors). Even if you're not caught, you devalue the credential if you don't truly know your stuff, and you've accomplished nothing by having someone do it for you.
This is precisely why Microsoft implemented their policy that test takers in some geographic regions may only test within their region - to avoid hired guns.

SCJP/SCSNI/SCBCD/SCWCD/SCDJWS/SCMAD/SCEA/MCTS/MCPD... and so many more letters than you can shake a stick at!
If you do cheat the SCJP exam by letting someone else do it for you (or any other way), and you apply for a job later, you will be embarassed in the job interview if the interviewer finds out that you really don't know anything about Java.
