contract enforced on them ??? Direct competitor, in some product lines, but not all. Would be a different job, if that matters.

There have been times it has been enforced. ITs basically up to the company to decide how much of a threat you are and how much they might want the company(s) you are dealing with. I think there are times when people have beat the contract, but I think it depends on the wording in the contract. I think the basic idea is that you cannot deprive a citizen of a livelyhood. So as long as they could still get a job and abide by the contract, then it would be binding. Many people get away with it. Mostly due to the fact that the company may never know. Dan

Thanks, My old boss would definitely find out. The CEOs of these two companies know each other. I decided the best way to handle this situation was to have a talk with my old boss. I wouldnt normally consider working for the competition, but I am having some problems finding a job this time.
