They're going to be hard to find, simply because there are fewer of these people. Common sense simply says there are fewer people at the top, naturally. But because of the boom in recent years, the lower ranks have swelled, making architets seem even rarer. Also they are the last to be laid off.
Places to try and find them:
- Recruiters
- Go to JUG meetings (Java User Groups)
- Conferences
ALso, in what area are you looking? Outside of Boston, NY/NJ, the valley, and Austin, they're probably even harder.
