Seems like that would be a real task.
It would require a nice fax machine on a network.
You would need to know how to send the phone number that you are faxing properly and the text. Good Luck, Keep us posted on your success and failures. I have to admit I am curious. Have you ever heard of JINI from sun it is cool, but I am not sure how you would comlete this task.

Have you lookedup RightFax or any other off-te-shelf products
We used it to receive fax and store it as images (tiff) files

Saravanan,
Are you trying to connect to your Fax via the seriell/paralell port or are you using a modem ???
It might be easier to install a fax-software as your printer driver, then you could just print to the specific printer in stead of figuring out how the fax works...

Hi!
Well I m looking for such a solution too..
Actually I ve an exe that I downloaded.. itz called quickfax.. itz a command line utility that sends fax thru a modem @ serial port..
But then it aint registered so I cant redistribute it..
Again I ve also looked up the CAf from IBM.. a very useful set of packages..
Some how they ve made it EJBs.. and I dont understand thier language..
more over I guess they can be deployed on to the Websphere.. which is expensive and I dont intend to lose my weblogic..
I m currently looking at how I can use those pacakges for my own purpose as a fax sending util..
Let ya all know as soon as I m done..
Meanwile.. do post up every mile stone on yer looking for knowledge..
