Hello Everyone,
I am in the midst of the application process for a large company and they want me to take an aptitude test. Could anyone suggest some good resources for preparing for programming aptitude tests?
Thanks,
Tom

Thomas:
I assume by aptitude tests that you mean "Java Programming Tests".
I have seen many of these types of tests - and most seem to cover the core Java technology. Meaning the same topics as the SCJP exam covers. However, the questions are more straightforward than the SCJP, and they may be more memory dump type questions than anything.
I did take an on-line exam once that focused 75% of its efforts on the Java Media Tracker classes of all things. The exam was being given by a recruiter as a requirement for all of their standard Java positions.
------
My advice. Study/review the core Java sections of the SCJP prep materials. If you have the SCJP then you are set.
BTW/ Let us know how the exam goes - and what topics were covered. If you get the job - or don't get the job - let us know (either way).

John,
Thanks for the info on the Java tests. However, what I am talking about are general aptitude tests that measure ones aptitude for programming. Actually, I already took a Java test for this particular company. But they are going to give an additional aptitude test. One that I have heard of is the Wolfe-Spence programming aptitude test. I'm not sure if that is the one that they are going to give me but what I want to find out is if there is reference materials out there for tests like the Wolfe-Spence or others.
Thanks,
Tom

i have taken those tests before, it covers very simple things, basically, ask u on some equations/formula to solve some particular problems... how to choose among them, etc...
not sure if u are going for similar things... if so, u really don't have prepared hard for it.. rather, take more rest... having a fresh mind is a must for those exams.
