reflection - invoking a method call on a superclass method

public class Super{protected method(){/////}
public class Child extends Super{//////}

childs[] is an array of Child objects

public SomeClass{/////private someMethod(Object [] childs){Method method = Super.getClass().getMethod("method", new Object[]{});//////*this following statement doesnt work for me*/method.invoke(childs[0], new Object[]{});/////}

Is there any procedure that I can employ to execute this method. If I make method public in Super, it works, but I really dont want to do that.
Any help would be really appreciated
