Need help with resume!

Hi,
I am a 19 year old web designer. I've been out of high school for about 2 years, and out of vo-tech for about 1. I've been creating web pages for about 3 years. However, during those 3 years, the only thing I got familiar with was HTML, Macromedia, and Javascript. I've done a few pages for my friends and some for my teachers for a price. But they were all temporary pages, so they don't exist anymore. (not even on hard disk, ... computer crash. ugh.)
Please don't think I'm one of those "HTML academy" graduates. I'm very serious about what I'm into.
I'm still in school and I have been learned VB 6.0 and I am finishing up Java. I plan to get back to the web designing by taking a Certified Internet Webmaster's course (CIW). I also have plans to study MCDBA.
But my problem is with the now.
I'm desperately looking for a job. Me and my dad are on low income, and I need a good job (more than $10/hr) or we're going to be in more trouble. BTW, $10 - $15 an hour is good start money in Oklahoma.
With only HTML exp., and a possible SCJP certification, but no exp. in Java, I look at people's resume, and they seem to be so far ahead of me. I have no money to try out new software just so I can put it on my resume.
Here's what I know:
HTML, Macromedia (Flash, Dreamweaver, etc..), Windows 95/98, Microsoft Office, Paint Shop Pro 6, entry level VB and Java
How can I turn this into a resume that will get attention?
How can I gain more experience and knowledge?
I am currently building some sample sites that show my work, but for now, only one site exists.
www.geocities.com/crosshair3/frontpage.html
Please, any help will be greatly appreciated.
I'd espescially like to hear from John Coxey, whom I've read some of his posts, and he seems to have a firm grasp of the "real world" (and his resume is great)
Thank you for any help,
Travis B.
