Good day to all!I am currently working as a programmer trainee. My boss' company is into research and development. He'd like me to research on the extensions API. I have no idea what these are and how these work? Is JMF an example of it? Thanks!

If you are referring to Sun's extension-to-J2SE-APIs, the packages of which often begin with javax, then it seems you have a rather vague and large study ahead of you. But I doubt that's what your boss meant. Perhaps he was referring to JMX - the Java Management Extensions API. [ December 15, 2003: Message edited by: Dirk Schreckmann ]
thank you, sir. he was actually referring to all extension APIs, but cleared to me just this morning that I need to concentrate on JMF. by the way, is it easy to learn?

is it easy to learn? I suppose it depends on who is learning it. I wouldn't imagine that a decent programmer that can learn new things well and makes good use of resources like JavaRanch should have too much trouble.
