Are contacts a part of the JavaMail API? Is it a part of IMAP or POP3? If not, does anyone know if there is a standard for getting contacts from an email server or is every one different?

Yes,it does.
You can check the APIs.

OK, just to check (since I realize I wasn't clear) I mean contacts like those stored in an address book - with full info (addresses, phone numbers, etc). That's a part of JavaMail and IMAP? I haven't been able to find it anywhere, that's why I ask.
Thanks!

OK,I know what you meant.
Contacts are not the part of the IMAP/POP3 protocol.
It's the mail server's difference.
