I need an open source Java OCR in my university project. So can i use this Aprise OCR library to help me doing it?

Hmmm.... Not sure what to do with this topic...

First, the initial poster is in violation of the JavaRanch naming policy. Second, this post is over 2 years old. And third, this probably should have been posted in the advertising forum in the first place.

I purposely left the link in the original post because it looks like it contain some useful information.

The API document seems to be available online. There seems to be a "trial" version, which is not for distribution. And it looks like a *single* license will run about $1000.

In any case, I too, would like opinions from anyone who use this product. I haven't worked on a project that needed OCR in about 5 years, but I guess you never know.
