This week's book giveaway is in the OCAJP 8 forum. We're giving away four copies of OCA Java SE 8 Programmer I Study Guide and have Edward Finegan & Robert Liguori on-line! See this thread for details.
I am developing a web site. Users of this web site can send e-mails. And the JavaMail is deployed to facilitate this feature.
A 'form' is provided for users to send e-mails. And the form has these text fields: From, To, Subject, Message.
I am going to use getRemoteUser() to obtain the userID of the person who is sending e-mails and fill out the 'From' text field with this userID.
Does the 'From' has to be an e-mail address in order to use the JavaMail standard send message code? In my case, users do not have to fill out their own e-mail addresses. Their userID gets entered in the 'From' text field automatically.
