After months - if not years, I think I've traced a problem of my java application hanging intermittently. I'm using JRUN. The process javaw.exe would run at 100% cpu and I'd have to stop it and restart JRUN.

By writing a trace to the database it looks like the statement :

SmtpClient client = new SmtpClient(SMTP_SERVER_IP);

was the one. I found out that there were problems with the server at the same time as the application was having a problem.

Is there anything I can do to stop it hanging at this statement ?
